Bishop Coadjutor Search Update - Deadline for Applications/Nominations Extended through October 15th

The Bishop Coadjutor Search Committee is taking applications through Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. as it seeks to find the person who will serve as the 6th Bishop of the Diocese of Southwest Florida.

The deadline has been extended in the interest of obtaining a deep and diverse pool of applicants to work with in this process.

Once the deadline has passed, committee members will spend several weeks reading the applications through a blind process to protect the confidentiality of those applying and to avoid any unintentional biases. Next, the committee will determine which applicants it would like to engage in further conversation and schedule phone interviews. At a discernment retreat, the committee will agree on a slate of finalists to present to the Standing Committee of the Diocese in January. The new bishop will be elected April 2 at a special convention called for that purpose.

The prayers of all in the diocese are asked as this all-important process continues.
