Bishop Coadjutor Search Update June 2, 2021

PARRISH - Work continues in earnest as the Bishop Coadjutor Search Committee begins the task of preparing documents needed to facilitate the application process. Among the efforts so far is the drafting of a Theological Summary outlining the process and detailing how parishioners in the diocese will be involved in the process.

Please take time between June 18 and June 30 to complete the brief survey below and share with us your ideas and desires as the process of selecting our next bishop begins.

In the coming months leading up to the Sept. 24, 2022 consecration of the 6th bishop of the diocese, the committee will be developing documents and procedures to lead this process. The next step is gaining a sense of what qualities in a bishop would best fit with the hopes and desires of parishioners across the diocese. Soon, an online survey will be completed and ready for distribution. Parishioners are strongly encouraged to participate in this survey so that an accurate, insightful diocesan profile can be prepared for potential candidates.

The words of the Theological Summary say it best, “We seek a bishop who will model unity and grace, helping us deepen our participation in God’s life and the way of Jesus through intentional practice.” For the complete summary and more information on the work of the committee, check out the diocesan website HERE.
